Unit 5 Recording Studio was formed by Steve Davies and Steve Townsend who proceeded to convert an industrial unit into a working studio, starting to trade in January 1999 unfortunately Steve Townsend left the studio in April 2003 due to other work commitments.

Steve Davies has 25 years in the industry, starting on simple 2 Track recordings of live bands, and eventually moving up to 16 Track live and studio recordings. During this time Steve has set up and run 3 recording studios with various partners; Everbimes of Mansfield, Rich Studio in Nottingham and his own Mouse Studios in Mansfield.

Steve Davies now run the studio as a sole trader but he does have help from the talented warbler Luke Hymas of the Band SAED and Mark Lisgo the Eric Clapton (not) of Mansfield.

Unit 5 has many genres of music pass through its doors and we hope to do justice to them all.

Unit 5 is pleased to announce the opening of the new rehearsal room to be known as the Bunker all the usual facilities are available with the room, Drum kit hire at £4 per session amp hire £3 per session free tea and coffee

The cost of 3hrs is £15 or £55 per 4x 3hrs paid in advance

This is the first stage of the redevelopment of Unit 5

The plans for the future are to introduce a mastering suite, live direct to cd recording and a photography service, plus a PODCAST studio which hopefully may turn into a internet radio station.
